Long Point Birdathon Weekend
With Birds Canada
Get your binoculars ready—LPBO Birdathon Weekend is back on May 17 at the Long Point Bird Observatory!
This bird-filled day runs from sunrise to after dark, offering something for everyone. Kick things off with certified bird-friendly coffee from 6:00 AM, then join expert-led bird walks throughout the morning with guides like Stu Mackenzie, Dr. Matthew Fuirst, and Dr. Doug Tozer. In the afternoon, explore the Long Point Birding Trail at your own pace, or dive deeper with guided marsh walks and wetland adventures in the Big Creek Wildlife Area.
As evening falls, head into Walsingham Forest for a magical encounter with whip-poor-wills, guided by the Aerial Insectivore Team.
Whether you’re a seasoned birder or just curious, this is a fantastic chance to explore Long Point’s incredible biodiversity. All walks are relaxed, 3-hour tours—remember to bring water, snacks, sunscreen, a hat, and hiking shoes.
